This world record took a real licking.

A Labrador/German shepherd mix named Zoey has lapped up the prize for the longest tongue on a living dog.

The Louisiana pooch has a whopping 5-inch-long tongue — longer than a soda can.

The 3-year-old pup always had a long tongue, according to her owners, Sadie and Drew Williams, who originally thought she would grow into it.

However, as Zoey matured, her tongue remained abnormally large — with people even commenting on how long it was.

"We got Zoey when she was only 6 weeks old, and in the first-ever picture we have of her, she has her tongue sticking out," Sadie recalled to Guinness World Records.

"It would be slobbering all over the place," Drew added.

The couple didn't officially know how long Zoey's tongue was until they took her to a vet last year, where they discovered she had a record-breaker in her mouth.

Her lengthy mouth organ surpassed the past record of 3.74 inches, held by an English Setter named Bisbee from Tucson, Arizona.

According to her owners, Zoey loves the outdoors, with her favorite activities including fetching, chasing squirrels, riding in the car and swimming.

"She will pretty much go fetch anything you throw and swim in any body of water that's available," said Drew.

Although her tongue may be a prize winner, it gives some unsuspecting people a shock if they want to give her a pat.

"Every now and then while we’re out taking her on a walk, people will come up to her and want to pet her," Drew explained.

"We’ll warn them ahead of time — ‘Hey, she's friendly but she might slobber on you’ — and every now and then she will, and they’ll have a big slobber mark on their black pants," he said with a laugh.
